Monday 31st

Cropston Res: juv Med Gull on the Bradgate Park side this morning.

Sunday 30th

Croft Hill: Pied Flycatcher.

Rutland Water: adult Med Gull & Whimbrel, Lagoon 4; 2 Black-tailed Godwits, Lagoon 1; female Red-crested Pochard, North Arm & 3+ Great White Egrets still around the reserve.

Wanlip Meadows: 5 Black-tailed Godwits, 2 Green Sandpipers, 2 LRPs & 1 Common Sandpiper.

Saturday 29th

Rutland Water: male Redstart on the path to Heron hide; Knot & adult Med Gull, Lagoon 4; adult Little Gull & Red-crested Pochard, North Arm.

Cropston Res: 5 Common Sandpipers.

Friday 28th

Rutland Water: 3 Great White Egrets, Heron Bay; Common Sandpiper, Lagoon 4.

Wednesday 26th

Rutland Water: Black Tern, Lagoon 3/4; 2 Great White Egrets, Lagoon 1.

Cropston Res: Marsh Harrier at 17:30, drifted towards Anstey.

Tuesday 25th

Rutland Water: 2 female Goosanders, Crake hide.

Monday 24th

Rutland Water: Knot, 2 Sanderling, Whimbrel, 2 Black-tailed Godwits, Common Sandpiper, 3 LRPS, 2 Ringed Plover & adult Med Gull, Lagoon 4; Red-crested Pochard, South Arm 3; Common Sandpiper, North Arm + 2+ Great White Egrets around the reserve.

Sunday 23rd

Rutland Water: Med Gull, Common Sandpiper, 3 Dunlin & 3 Ringed Plovers, Lagoon 4; Common Scoter, South Arm 3 + up to 4 Great White Egrets around the reserve.

Friday 21st

Cropston Res: 2 Little Terns at midday.

Eyebrook Res: 2 Little Terns (possibly the same birds?) this afternoon.

Thursday 20th

Rutland Water: Whimbrel flew west over Lapwing hide; 3 Dunlin, 3 Common Sandpipers, 5 LRPS & 1 Ringed Plover, Lagoon 4; 4 Great White Egrets still around the reserve.

Tuesday 18th

Rutland Water: Black Tern, Common Scoter & Red-crested Pochard, South Arm.

Also a Nikon D200 camera (body only) added to the For Sale page.

Monday 17th

Rutland Water: 3 Common Scoters (2 drakes) & drake Red-crested Pochard still, South Arm 3; Garganey still, Wet Meadow; 31 Black-tailed Godwits, Lagoon 4.

Sunday 16th

Rutland Water: 3 Common Scoters (2 drakes) & drake Red-crested Pochard, South Arm 3; Garganey & Marsh Harrier, Lagoon 1; adult Med Gull, Whimbrel (returning bird of unknown origin with small apparently copper ring on one leg), 3 Dunlin, 4 Ringed Plovers & 4 Common Sandpipers, Lagoon 4; 4 Green Sandpipers, Wet Meadow; 3+ Great White Egrets around the reserve.

Saturday 15th

Rutland Water: adult Med Gull & 2 Ringed Plovers, Lagoon 4; Great White Egret, Lagoon 1.

Friday 14th

Rutland Water: Garganey, Wet Meadow.

Thursday 13th

Rutland Water: Marsh Harrier & 2 Great White Egrets, Lagoon 1; Green Sandpipers, Wet Meadow & Lagoon 2; Dunlin & 2 Ringed Plovers, Lagoon 4; Great White Egret, South Arm 3; Ruff, North Arm.

Just over the border into Notts, up to 7 Bee-eaters continue to be seen daily at East Leake Quarry, but no further reports of them definitely entering Leics airspace, although they have been seen flying off in our direction on several occasions, usually around 7pm.

Wednesday 12th

Rutland Water: Marsh Harrier & 2 Great White Egrets, Lagoon 1; 3 Green Sandpipers, Wet Meadow; 2 Common Sandpipers, 2 Ringed Plovers & 4 Dunlin, Lagoon 4.

Eyebrook Res: 3 Dunlin.

Tuesday 11th

Rutland Water: 4 Great White Egrets around the reserve.

Monday 10th

Rutland Water: 3 Great White Egrets, Lagoon 4.

Stanford Res: 20 Black-tailed Godwits + 1 Greenshank.

Saturday 8th

Rutland Water: Little Tern, Lagoon 4; 19 Black-tailed Godwits, Lagoon 1; Great White Egrets Lagoons 1 & 4.

Friday 7th

Eyebrook Res: Common Sandpiper & 2 Green Sandpipers at the inflow.

Thursday 6th

Cropston Res: 2 Little Terns.

Wednesday 5th

Rutland Water: Great White Egret, Lagoon 2; 5 Black-tailed Godwits flew over Lagoon 3; 2 LRPs, North Arm; Ringed Plover, Lagoon 4.

Eyebrook Res: 6 Black-tailed Godwits, Common Sandpiper & 4 LRPs.

Tuesday 4th

Rutland Water: Great White Egrets, Lagoon 4 & Manton Bay.

Monday 3rd

No reports of yesterday's reported Red-footed Falcon.

Sunday 2nd

Market Harborough/Little Bowden: unconfirmed report of female RED-FOOTED FALCON at 15:10, feeding over fields near the junction of the A6 & Kettering Road, then flew towards Great Bowden.

Saturday 1st

Rutland Water: Marsh Harrier, Lagoon 1; Great White Egret, Lagoon 8.
