Also a male Red-backed
Shrike was apparently photographed somewhere
in the county yesterday, but was not present today. More details
to follow if we get them!
Monday 21st
Rutland Water: 2 Spoonbills,
North Arm this morning till 09:30 when they flew off north.

Lagoon 1.

still singing, but has now moved to edge of the wood "opposite
the clearing with the llama in"

Rutland Water: BROAD-BILLED
SANDPIPER on Lagoon 4 from c.20:00 - 20:40 when
it flew off north-west (1st county record).
Croft Quarry: ringtail Harrier
sp seen briefly dropping into the quarry at 15:00.
Tuesday 1st
Oakham: Stone
Curlew flew over calling at 22:40 (Richard Bayldon).
Cossington Meadows: drake Garganey
still on Upper Marsh pool (opposite the Tern Pool - see this
map for all named areas of the reserve)
Beacon Hill: Wood Warbler
still singing by the lower pond.
