Eyebrook Res: 3 Black-tailed Godwits at the inflow.

Rutland Water: Green Sandpipers at Lagoon 3 (1) and Crake hide (2).

Thursday 24th

Eyebrook Res: Little Gull & Black-tailed Godwit at the inflow.

Rutland Water: 1st-summer Little Gull, North Arm; 3 Green Sandpipers, Lagoon 3.

Tuesday 22nd

Eyebrook Res: Little Tern & 6 Black-tailed Godwits at the inflow.

Rutland Water: 2 Black-tailed Godwits & 1 Ruff, Lagoon 1; Little Gull, Lagoon 4.

Also a male Red-backed Shrike was apparently photographed somewhere in the county yesterday, but was not present today. More details to follow if we get them!

Monday 21st

Rutland Water: 2 Spoonbills, North Arm this morning till 09:30 when they flew off north.

Sunday 20th

Eyebrook Res: no sign of Spotted Redshanks; 5 Black-tailed Godwits & 1st-summer Little Gull still.

Rutland Water: 1st-summer Little Gull still on Lagoon 4; 29 Black-tailed Godwits, Lagoon 1.

Saturday 19th

Eyebrook Res: 2 summer plumaged Spotted Redshanks, 5 Black-tailed Godwits & 1 Little Gull still at the inflow.

Friday 18th

Eyebrook Res: 2 summer plumaged Spotted Redshanks, 5 Black-tailed Godwits & 1 Little Gull at the inflow.

Rutland Water: 1st-summer Little Gull still on Lagoon 4.

Thursday 17th

Albert Village Lake/Tip: 3 Yellow-legged Gulls.

Monday 14th

Rutland Water: 2 adult Med Gulls + adult Yellow-legged Gull, Lagoon 4.

Sunday 13th

Rutland Water: 1st-summer Little Gull & adult Yellow-legged Gull, Lagoon 4; Green Sandpiper, Harrier hide.

Friday 11th

Rutland Water: Little Tern commuting between Lagoon 4 & Lagoon 3/South Arm III, also Little Gull & adult Yellow-legged Gull; drake Garganey, Harrier hide; Greenshank & Green Sandpiper, North Arm.

Thursday 10th

No news received since Sunday.

Sunday 6th

Cossington Meadows: drake Garganey still on Upper Marsh.

Saturday 5th

Rutland Water: 1st-summer Little Gull, Lagoon 4; Turtle Dove, Fieldfare hide.

Beacon Hill: Wood Warbler still singing, but has now moved to edge of the wood "opposite the clearing with the llama in"

Cossington Meadows: drake Garganey still on Upper Marsh pool.

Friday 4th

Rutland Water: Little Tern, Lagoon 4; Turnstone, Lagoon 1; 3 Black Terns, Lagoon 3.

No news received for today.

Wednesday 2nd

Rutland Water: BROAD-BILLED SANDPIPER on Lagoon 4 from c.20:00 - 20:40 when it flew off north-west (1st county record).

Croft Quarry: ringtail Harrier sp seen briefly dropping into the quarry at 15:00.

Tuesday 1st

Oakham: Stone Curlew flew over calling at 22:40 (Richard Bayldon).

Cossington Meadows: drake Garganey still on Upper Marsh pool (opposite the Tern Pool - see this map for all named areas of the reserve)

Beacon Hill: Wood Warbler still singing by the lower pond.
