morning.
Wednesday 26th
Groby Pool: female Blue-winged
Teal in channel on the north side. Park only
in the car park (SK525079) and walk back along the road around
the east side of the pool to the start of the footpath. Follow
the footpath for about 20 yards to view the channel, where the
bird is associating with a drake Shoveler. Also female Marsh
Harrier in the reedbed early afternoon.

Stint still on Lagoon 4 from Sandpiper hide
+ 2 Little Gulls, 10 + Sanderlings,
Black Tern, Yellow-legged Gull
+ report of Little Stint; Wood Sandpiper,
Lagoon 3; Short-eared Owl, Lagoon 1. No sign
of White-winged Black Terns today.

& 10 Sanderlings.
Swithland Wood: Firecrest
singing c50m south of the north car park this morning.
Deans Lane, Woodhouse: Firecrest
singing 200 yards down the main track on the right this evening.
How many more are there in Charnwood (or elsewhere)?!

seen from the new viewing area.
Outwoods: Firecrest
singing this evening - from the main car park follow the path
which runs parallel to the road for c20 yards; the bird was
singing in conifers.

Kelham Bridge: bird reported as a
Purple Heron earlier is an aberrant/soiled/deformed/hybrid/manky
