Sunday 31st

Eyebrook Res: Little Stint at the inflow this evening, but not seen all day up until 19:00 despite searching so presumably a different bird to that reported yesterday. Also 17 Sanderlings, 6 Dunlin & 30 Ringed Plovers at the inflow.

Rutland Water: 2 Temminck's Stints still, Lagoon 4.

Wanlip Meadows: drake Garganey & 3 Dunlin.

Saturday 30th

Eaton: Quail calling near Sherricliffe Farm at SK799304. NB if looking for this or any other Quail, please remember that it is a Schedule 1 breeding species; any disturbance, including the use of recordings, is an offence under the Wildlife and Countryside Act.

Rutland Water: 2 Temminck's Stints still, Lagoon 4.

Eyebrook Res: unconfirmed, third hand report of a Little Stint this morning.

Groby Pool: no sign of the 2 Whooper Swans today.

Friday 29th

Groby Pool: 2 1st-summer Whooper Swans!

Rutland Water: 2 Temminck's Stints still, Lagoon 4, also 10 Sanderlings.

Eyebrook Res: 7 Sanderlings briefly at the inflow.

Rutland Water: 2 Temminck's Stints still, Lagoon 4, also 2 Sanderlings, 1 Ruff & 17 Ringed Plovers.

Rutland Water: 2 Temminck's Stints, Lagoon 4 on island 10.

Eyebrook Res: Dunlin & 25 Ringed Plovers at the inflow.

Uppingham: Great White Egret flew over this morning.

Eyebrook Res: 8 Ringed Plovers at the inflow, also 2 Spotted Flycatchers in the plantation, near the Stoke Dry gate.

Stanford Res: pair of Garganey on main water near the settling pond.

Kilworth Springs GC: Turtle Dove flew over this evening.

Albert Village Lake/Tip: adult Med Gull.

Watermead CP South: 3 Red-crested Pochards (+ brood of 8 young).

Wednesday 20th

Eyebrook Res: 4 Sanderlings, 6 Dunlin & 14 Ringed Plovers.

Rutland Water: 4 Dunlin & 4 Ringed Plovers, Lagoon 4.

Tuesday 19th

Eyebrook Res: Turnstone, 4 Sanderlings, 3 Dunlin & 20 Ringed Plovers at the inflow this morning + Sanderling still at the island.

Rutland Water: 3 Arctic Terns, Turnstone & 10 Ringed Plovers, Lagoon 4.

Monday 18th

Rutland Water: Temminck's Stint still on Lagoon 4 this morning at least, also 3 Arctic Terns, 1 Sanderling, 4 Dunlin & 10+ Ringed Plovers.

Eyebrook Res: Avocet, 5 Sanderlings, 13 Dunlin & 20 Ringed Plovers at the inflow; 1 Sanderling still at the island.

Wanlip Meadows: 8 Ringed Plovers from Plover hide.

Sunday 17th

Rutland Water: Temminck's Stint, 2 Sanderlings, 10 Dunlin & 20 Ringed Plovers, Lagoon 4.

Eyebrook Res: Sanderling at the island; 2 Dunlin, 3 Ringed Plover & Pink-footed Goose at the inflow.

Saturday 16th

Eyebrook Res: 2 Turnstones, 2 Sanderlings, 2 Dunlin, 4 Ringed Plovers, 1 Common Sandpiper & 1 Pink-footed Goose.

Friday 15th

Wanlip Meadows: drake Garganey from Plover hide.

Eyebrook Res: Black Tern, inflow.

Rutland Water: drake Scaup, North Arm.

Thursday 14th

Rutland Water: Greenland White-front in field behind Lagoon 1.

Wednesday 13th

Cossington Meadows: drake Garganey, Upper Marsh pond, also Common Sandpiper, Tern Pool.

Rutland Water: 4 Sanderlings, 1 Turnstone, 32 Ringed Plovers, 17 Dunlin & Greenland White-front, Lagoon 4.

Eyebrook Res: 2 Sanderlings, 15 Ringed Plovers & 13 Dunlin.

Albert Village Lake: 1 Common Sandpiper.

Monday 11th

Rutland Water: 2 Black Terns, Lagoon 2; 3 Hobbies, Lagoon 3.

Swithland Res: 8 Arctic Terns this afternoon.

Sunday 10th

Ibstock: adult Gannet flew over at 13:45, heading towards Sence Valley Forest Park.

Eyebrook Res: Whimbrel, Sanderling, Greenshank, 2 Common Sandpipers, 11 Dunlin, 10 Ringed Plover & Pink-footed Goose.

Saturday 9th

Rutland Water: Temminck's Stint back on Lagoon 4 this afternoon after no sign this morning, also 2 Black Terns, Lagoon 3.

Eyebrook Res: 6 Turnstones this morning only, also Sanderling & Greenshank at the inflow.

Misterton: 1 Spotted Flycatcher.

Friday 8th

Rutland Water: Temminck's Stint, Lagoon 4, also Sanderling , Whimbrel & Dunlin.

Eyebrook Res: Greenshank & 6 Dunlin.

Cossington Meadows: Spotted Flycatcher near Brook Wood.

Thursday 7th

Rutland Water: 2 Whimbrel; 2 Sanderling; 20+ Dunlin & 15+ Ringed Plovers, Lagoon 4; Hobby, Lagoon 3.

Eyebrook Res: Whimbrel off Stoke Dry car park this morning.

Victoria Park, Leicester: Spotted Flycatcher by the pond this morning.

Grimston: Spotted Flycatcher.

Wednesday 6th

Rutland Water: Bar-tailed Godwit, Turnstone, 3 Sanderlings, Common Sandpiper, 31 Dunlin & 7 Ringed Plovers, Lagoon 4; 3 Arctic Terns, North Arm.

Eyebrook Res: Greenshank, Common Sandpiper & 6 Dunlin.

Tuesday 5th

Eyebrook Res: 1 Grey Plover, 1 Greenshank, 4 Common Sandpipers, 22 Dunlin, 13 Ringed Plovers, Hobby & 1 Pink-footed Goose.

Monday 4th

Rutland Water: 2 Wood Sandpipers, Grey Plover, 2 Sanderlings, 3 Turnstones & c70 Dunlin, Lagoon 4.

Cropston Res: adult Kittiwake briefly at 11:55, then flew west.

Eyebrook Res: 28 Dunlin.

Cossington Meadows: Common Sandpiper & Cuckoo.

Also more Swifts around today.

Sunday 3rd

Eyebrook Res: 2 Sanderlings & 2 1st-summer Little Gulls at the inflow.

Saturday 2nd

Longmoor Lake: male Whinchat, Hobby & Common Sandpiper.

Queniborough: Osprey on telegraph pole 2 miles east of the village at 17:10.

Friday 1st

Thurnby: 4 Cranes flew south at 09:00.

Rutland Water: second hand report of Crane over late morning, but no further details.

Eyebrook Res: Whimbrel, Hobby, 4 Dunlin, 5 Common Sandpipers, 1 Swift & 2 Pink-footed Geese.

Hicks Lodge: female Redstart.

Elmesthorpe: male Whinchat briefly in field near Bridle Path Road at 11:00, then flew towards Burbage Common.

Swithland Res: 1 Common Sandpiper on the dam, also Pink-footed Goose on the north side.

Cropston Res: 5 Common Sandpipers on the dam.

Cossington Meadows: 2 Cuckoos & 2 Dunlin.

Thornton Res: 1 Swift.
